About Carine Strong
I served as Board Chair of the CCS Board of Directors from 2013 until 2017 and have been a member of the CCS Board since 2005 . Other roles I held were Co-Chair of the agency’s Gala Committee until 2012 and regular volunteer at Chez Thrift. I find myself spending approximately 50 hours every month volunteering for causes and organizations I am passionate about.
In my day job I have an over 30-year history in progressively senior management positions in the field of Customer & Community Relations, Travel/Event Management and Communications. In 2008 I moved into not-for-profit when I became the Executive Director of Volunteer MBC, a volunteer centre which serves the entire Region of Peel. The mission of Volunteer MBC is to promote and support volunteerism in an effort to connect all people to meaningful volunteer opportunities.
My husband is Canadian, the son of a Belgian war bride and I moved from Belgium to Bolton over 33 years ago when we married. Bolton was extraordinarily welcoming and I felt how caring this community is from the very first day and I have a desire to ‘give back’ and in doing so, hopefully make a difference. I have one wonderful daughter and when not caring for both of the loves of my life, I enjoy baking delicious cheesecakes and yummy cookies, and entertaining guests with Flemish cuisine. I also enjoy decorating and handyman chores around the house and can sling a hammer with the best of them.
My extensive involvement with CCS has allowed me to see first-hand the positive impact CCS has made on the lives of so many individuals in the Caledon community.I’m very proud to be associated with this organization, which encourages people to help themselves, while showing the utmost respect for the environment.
