Summer should be a time for fun. However, for children and families living in poverty, it is a time of worry and increased struggle.

When *Sonia moved to Caledon with her Mom and her little brother last year, she was bursting with big dreams. She will be a dancer. Or a scientist. Or both.

Just like many single parents, Sonia’s Mom was juggling jobs to make ends meet until an accident left her unable to work.

Sonia’s Mom was now facing an impossible choice: rent OR meals. Sonia’s dreams had to be put on hold - it's hard to dream when you're simply too hungry.

Sonia’s Mom turned to Caledon Community Services for help
