Caledon Community Services offers the CLB 3-4 Course, designed for adults with basic English skills aiming to improve communication for daily life, work, and community involvement. Lessons are task-oriented, learner-centred, and inclusive, aligned with the LINC Curriculum PBLA framework.
Progress is monitored using CLB level descriptors, encouraging students to engage with their community through volunteering & interaction. The program follows the HyFlex classroom model, enabling in-person, hybrid, or 100% virtual participation. A typical day includes: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Asynchronous independent learning with individual teacher support as needed. 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM: Synchronous teacher-led activities. 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Continued asynchronous learning. Teachers are available from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM for additional support. Participants also benefit from a Digital Navigator and access to a device loaning program through third-party organizations.
