English Class CLB 5+ (L-CCS EVC24002)

CCS LINC provides year-round English language instruction to adult immigrants, facilitating learners' cultural, social, economic integration and settlement in Canada. Instruction is task oriented, learner-centred, and is delivered in a nurturing setting.

Multiple learning mediums are utilized, and focus upon the 12 themes in the LINC Curriculum Guidelines. Lesson plans relate to and build upon experiences that students bring to each class. Progress is monitored using CLB level descriptors. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their own learning and to become involved within their community via volunteering at community events and frequent interactions with others.

Classes are inclusive and rich in diversity, serving a wide range of clients. CCS functions as a one-stop-shop for newcomers, offering a myriad of programs ranging from employment assistance, transportation, counseling, supportive housing and much more.
