Introduction to Black History In North America - 10:30am

Black History Month
Newcomer Services

Participants will learn about the age of exploration, Transatlantic slave trade, American
Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Emancipation Day, the Underground Railroad,
American Civil War, Jim Crow Laws, Canada’s Racial Segregation, Ontario’s Racial
Discrimination Act, and Black History Month.
Participants will learn about legendary and unknown Black people in Canada.
